Base development of Wehrmacht Ostheer (OST, German) - escalation to phases and precise construction of buildings by Pionner squads
Wehrmacht Ostheer starts with Kampfgruppe Headquarters (main building) that allows you to make phase escalation. There are 3 phases available, to open the possibility of moving to the next phase, you need to go to the previous one. Each phase gives the Pioneer squad to build a new building. In this case, it is not necessary to construct a building of the current phase in order to proceed to the next phase; to proceed to the next phase, it is enough to accumulate the required amount of resources. For example, this allows the Wehrmacht to build a Heavy Panzer Korps (a phase 3 building for the production of heavy tanks) without having to build a Support Armor Korps (a phase 2 building for the production of medium tanks).
Pioneer squad can produce 4 buildings in the base area:
- Infanterie Kompanie
- Leichte Mechanized Kompanie (Phase 1 is required)
- Support Armor Korps (Phase 2 is required)
- Heavy Panzer Korps (Phase 3 is required)
Buildings
The Kampfgruppe Headquarters is the primary command structure. Its Pioneers can construct all base buildings once the battle phases are complete.

- Defense (perfect) Pioneer squad can land antipersonnel mines on a large perimeter, and place powerful anti-tank mines that can destroy a light tank. Machine-gun bunkers are inexpensive and effectively stop enemy infantry. Several commanders allow the construction of a powerful anti-tank Pak 43, capable of quickly destroying tanks at long range.

For some commanders, the following are available: Assault Grenadiers is aggressive short range unit, available at the beginning of the game, but cannot fight against vehicles; Stormtroopers - guerrilla formations, effective for attack behind the front line, can be improved for short range combat and for fighting vehicles; Jaeger Command Squad - the strongest unit at all distances, there can be only one on the battlefield; Artillery Field Officer will shoot most units at close range, he also has a number of useful skills and works well in conjunction with the Panzerwerfer, there can be only one on the battlefield; Osttruppen Squad are numerous, they are cheap and efficiently fire from cover, in the 3rd phase they can be upgraded with light mg-42.
- Anti-tank infantry (good) Veteran Panzergrenadiers with Panzerschrecks are the best anti-tank squads in the game, capable of effectively fighting allied medium and heavy tanks. For some commanders, Stormtroopers are available, which can be armed with one panzershrek and inflict increased damage from an ambush, with guaranteed penetration.
- Anti-tank gun (good) The Pak 40 is designed exclusively for destroying vehicles and tanks. After the first veterancy, it is able to temporarily blind any vehicle with a special shot (Target Weak Point ability).
- Mortars (good) Good accuracy and ability to counter battery fire after 1st veterancy. For some commanders, the SdKfz 250/7 self-propelled mortar is available, capable of firing incendiary projectiles.
- Sniper (perfect) After the first veterancy, he is able to set fire to the infantry with a special shot
- Machine guns (perfect) Available for construction at the beginning of the game, effectively suppresses infantry in a wide range. After the first veterancy, it can fire Incendiary Armor Piercing Rounds, which quickly destroy light vehicles and inflict increased damage to infantry.
- Light vehicle and armored cars (good) Scout car 222, fast, good at hunting snipers, shooting at planes and attacking infantry that are not capable of damaging vehicles (Shock Troops, Assault Engineer squad ). SdKfz 251 Half-track allows you to reinforce / heal infantry on the battlefield, plant mines, and can also be upgraded as a powerful anti-personnel unit by installing two flamethrowers.
- Light tank (bad) Not present, light tanks of other factions have an advantage due to the fact that they can destroy light vehicles and disperse the ranks of the Wehrmacht infantry. You need to fight light tanks through panzerfaust, panzershrek and pak 40.
- Medium tanks (good) The Panzer IV Ausf. H is a versatile tank capable of performing any tasks on the battlefield; the Ostwind Anti-Aircraft Tank is effective against infantry, light tanks and aircraft; in some cases, it is able to destroy an SPG by circling around it or finish off a medium tank. Pz 4 Ausf J has improved defense and available for Strategic Reserves Doctrine and Festung Armor Doctrine.
- Heavy tanks (perfect) The Pz 5 Panther is a fast and powerful heavy tank designed to destroy enemy medium and heavy tanks, the Brummbar anti-personnel assult gun is an excellent tool for destroying infantry blobs, it has powerful frontal armor. - Multiple launch rocket system (good) Panzerwerfer effectively wipes infantry from a short distance, also interacts well with an artillery field officer.
- Long Range Artillery (perfect) Some commanders make it possible to build the leFH 18 howitzer, which works effectively against enemy positions. But there may be problems with selecting targets due to the lack of basic reconnaissance.
